Rooted in remembrance
La Puerta Community Storytelling Project

We invite you to share a favorite story, a cherished memory, or a reflection on a loved one who has been laid to rest at La Puerta. Whether it’s a brief anecdote about their love for the outdoors or a deeper tribute to their spirit, we want to hold space for these histories in our community.

We will highlight these shared memories in our newsletters and on our social media pages. By weaving these personal threads together, we hope to celebrate the beautiful lives that now nourish the landscape we all love.

    Guidelines for submissions

To maintain the spirit of our community and the sanctity of La Puerta, we ask that all contributors follow these simple guidelines:

Focus on the Individual: Stories should center on the life, character, and legacy of the person laid to rest at La Puerta. We welcome anecdotes, favorite quotes, or reflections on the person's impact.

Maintain a Respectful Tone: While we encourage sharing the full spectrum of a life lived, please ensure the content is honoring and kind. We reserve the right to decline stories that include disparaging remarks or controversial family grievances.

Permissions & Privacy: Please ensure you have the consensus of immediate family members before submitting a story or photo. By submitting, you grant Natural Burial New Mexico permission to share the content in our newsletters and on our social media platforms.

Photo Quality: If including a photo, please send high-resolution files (JPEGs are best). Photos of the individual in nature or enjoying life are preferred over sensitive or clinical imagery.

Avoid Solicitation: This is a space for memory, not for promoting outside businesses, political causes, or third-party services.

Subject to Editing: Our team may perform light editing for length, clarity, or grammar to ensure your story shines in our newsletter format.
