Thank you so much for your interest in telling your story at the La Puerta Natural Burial Ground Storytelling Event.

​Please read the instructions below and complete the short application to apply to be one of the five featured storytellers at the event. We will review and reach out to let you know if you have been selected to be a featured storyteller. 

Here is some guidance on the expectations for a featured storyteller:

Please fully commit to attending the event and following through with telling your story if you are selected. You will be one of five featured storytellers, and we will depend on your story being told to ensure a meaningful and successful event. If circumstances arise that you are not able to make the event, please let us know as soon as possible so we can find another storyteller to take your place.

Stories should be 10-15 minutes long

We are looking for stories of transformation, impermanence, and the human condition. Stories can be true stories that have happened to you, or we also welcome folk tales. Please indicate in your application if the story is true or fiction.

We will be in correspondence prior to the event to coordinate and set up a time to meet with all featured storytellers to rehearse our stories. We will meet in Albuquerque at least once for 1 hour prior to the event.

We will not accept stories that are disrespectful or disparaging toward any group. We want to create a welcoming space for all and use stories to bring people together.
