THE ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS WE OFFER -
Kinkaraco is the designer of the original green burial shroud, designed for people who want their burial to be as natural as their lives. These shrouds are 100% American made, as Kinkaraco is dedicated to preserving our earth's natural resources, our communities, and our economy while serving those in need.
By selecting the bamboo coffin or willow carrier by Passages International, an Albuquerque based company, you are committing to a product that is sustainably produced and fully biodegradable, made from natural, unbleached cotton or fast-growing willow or bamboo. These materials help absorb harmful CO2 from the atmosphere, and grow well on low quality land where crops could not survive. No metals, plastics, or harmful dyes are used in the construction of these products.
The weavers who make Passages coffins and caskets are artisans in their fields, creating some of the most beautiful and high-quality woven products available. By hand-crafting these caskets in rural Bangladesh, highly valued labor can be brought to rural areas, helping workers avoid turning to bigger city factories for employment. Passages shrouds, caskets, and coffins are certified Fair Trade, ensuring respect for the environment and a fair price for materials and labor.
