Natural Burial New Mexico has its origins in the promotion of a kinder, gentler, and better life. We feel that concept should be extended to include all of life, all the way through to the ending. The seminars and speaking engagements that we do are all about living well in spite of the disappointments, failures, illnesses, tragedies, unexpected events, discomfort regarding mortality, and uncertainties about the future. Thank You, This is very nice. I am a retired undertaker myself, have done many burials of all faiths, I also wanted to express my concerns about some cemeteries, and there practices guidelines, When my wife's grandmother passed away she had purchased a plot many years ago and thee plot was already paid for including opening and closing, endowment, Thee only thing she did not purchase was a liner, Well my wife was her Grandmothers caretaker and also had power of attorney other legal docs, well when we contacted thee cemetery, I was told we had to go to probate court because power of attorney was only good while thee person was alive, NOT true, Thee Cemetery has its own guidelines Requirements for burial such as liners , ETC, So we ended up Cremating Grandma and kept her ashes, My wife and I went to thee cemetery and spoke with thee director Manager of thee cemetery, I requested thee State law and Cemetery Rules and guidelines, I was informed that thee cemetery had imposed the rule of burial requirements IN NM. Was told that Power of attorney was not a Legal document once that person is dead, So now we are required by this NM cemetery to pay for probate hearing in order to use that Very Nice Burial plot, I asked about perhaps using that Plot as a double depth plot and asked about the burial liner requirements for double depth burial, asked about any fees for endowment care and headstone setting fees ETC, I was very angry when we were told we could NOT Use that Burial Plot to bury Grandma Cece, unless we got a probate judge to sign off on documents, When I contacted thee NM board of funeral directors here in NM they said it was a Cemetery Requirement, BUT I hold thee DEED to that PLOT and proof of payment proving Grandma paid for that Plot, We also have thee original Contract which does not State anything about thee Cemetery Guidelines, Since that plot was bought decades ago, Thee Revised guidelines IMPOSED on thee Consumer were NOT part of the guidelines, or cemetery rules. I feel thee new rules regulations are unfair and if I pay for probate judge hearing, Cemetery should be forced to reimburse for all cost, People need to fight back People should be informed about burial embalming, back when I was growing up thee person whom past was left at the home, thee viewing was at the home and Burial was all natural wrapped in a sheet lowered into the ground and all folks grabbed shovels and we filled in thee Burial site our selves. Embalming is NOT a Requirement, or state law, Viewing can still take place at ones residence without embalming Thee body can still remain at thee residence over night without a casket put on a Table with a sheet or a bed which ever family wants, If body had autopsies a Poach can be used under thee Corpse to retain all body fluids, It will smell but of body is cleaned and sown properly dressed there are powders that can also be used, Thee body does not have to be taken to burial site in a Hearse family vehicle can be used to transport, and if family decides to bury a loved one on personal property it can be done so long as thee Burial permit shows thee exact place where body will be entered Buried The death certificate also needs to show final disposition of remains. Yet many folks are not aware of Thee choices they have when a LOVED one passes away, Mortuaries and cemeteries will not give family this information, I have not found anyplace in NM law that states a person can not be buried on private personal property, My own yard , ETC, This is a very Beautiful Thing you folks are bringing Back, I am aware a Mortuary does need to handle thee paper work a funeral homes Lics is a Needed for final deposition of human remains BUT a viewing and funeral does not need to be at a Funeral home Church ETC Thee viewing can be held at HOME, and remains can remain at that residence until final Deposition , Other States also allow Viewing and natural Burial without all thee Expenses , PEOPLE Need to be made aware of these Choices after a LOVED one passes away, I wouldn't mind being buried in my back yard, I will not be embalmed I will be Cremated a direct cremation or burial is my Choice I want to remain in my home viewing in my home wrapped in a sheet and buried or Cremated, That is IT, Thanks folks If I can be of any assistance PLEASE contact me would not mind Informing folks about these options even handling burials viewings, Cremations, Perhaps joining your Team In Thee Preneed , THIS IS Great Thank you I will tell others about This Beautiful Natural burial Site, a horse drawn carriage with some ropes to lower Thee Loved ones into there eternal resting Place, It would catch on Mortuaries cemeteries might become angry BUT it is Fair Consumers right to choose and a Business to also offer These Services, PLEASE keep me informed I would LOVE to join your Team and provide These Old time natural burial services to all faiths peoples, BEAUTIFUL resting Place, thanks, my tel number 505 216 0828 252 0333, my 2/18/2019 02:25:08 am
